Material Handler

The Material Handler will execute the day-to-day implementation of the shipment of goods from a manufacturing facility to numerous domestic and international customer locations.  Additionally, the Material Handler performs general utility functions in a warehouse setting in support of the production of high-quality fixtures.  The position is primarily operational and requires a strategic view of transportation services including but not limited to outbound shipments of materials, supplies and finished goods; warehouse operations and inventory control; and management of customer relationships.

Key Areas of Responsibility:
·        Gather materials, such as lumber, hardware, and packaging.
·        Load, unload and stage materials for production.
·        Use hand tools to hand sand material, assemble shipping crates, trim pieces or materials.
·        Work with and assist Carpenters feeding machinery. 
·        Lift wood pieces onto machines, either by hand or with pallet jacks. 
·        General maintenance of warehouse facility.
·        Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment at all times. 
·        Drive company truck as needed.
·    Manage all paperwork for shipments; Manage all shipping transactions out of company ERP system.
·   Cross-functional involvement with plant operations management, project management, and all transportation vendors to ensure that finished goods are timely completed in order to meet customer ship dates.
·   Evaluate all current processes, procedures and partnerships to identify cost savings opportunities in the warehouse specifically and throughout the physical plant generally
·   Assist in the identification and implementation of continuous improvement opportunities and customer satisfaction opportunities.


Formal Education:

HS diploma or GED required. Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred. Some technical knowledge helpful.

Job-Related Experience/Skills/Competencies:
·   Minimum 1-3 years of experience with warehouse operations
·   Strategic thinker

·      General knowledge of shop drawings, blueprints, rulers.
·        Ability to prepare and set up machines and tooling for woodwork manufacturing.

·        Basic computer and math skills.
·        Drug free at all times.
·        Must sign and comply with company Distracted Driver Policy
